First real tapestry complete!

First non sampler tapestry.
Finished size:  18" x 13.5"
I just finished hanging my first "non sampler" tapestry.   Worthy of hanging? Hmmm - not so sure, but it will serve as a reminder, showing the skill growth I acquire as I continue learning tapestry skills (since it is hanging right next to the loom). I began this after the 1st Part of Rebecca's Mezoff's Online Class, then life got in the way over the summer.   Five months of very sporadic weaving, so today I'm very happy to see it completed. Now to move onto the next project on the tapestry loom.

Certainly not masterpieces - but you've gotta start somewhere!

Rebecca Mezoff's Online Tapestry Class has been the "PUSH" I needed to begin using the tapestry looms I've been acquiring for the last few years.  I've learned so much already!  Part 2 has just started and I've only begun weaving the sampler for that class.  I'll post photos once I have enough to show.

The photos below are what I have woven in less than a month, using the skills she has taught.

Rebecca Mezoff's Online Tapestry Course

Today I signed up for Rebecca Mezoff's Online Tapestry Course: Warp and Weft: Learning the Structure of Tapestry, Part 1.  Part 1 officially begins on April 28th and runs thru May 26th.  Parts 2 and 3 will follow ending  July 25th.  Additional access of the course material is available thru August 9th .  I do plan on taking all of the 3 parts that Rebecca is offering.  I've been looking at Rebecca's tapestries on her blog for many months and when I recently watched the video trailer for her class, I was convinced!  I am drawn to her style of weaving and I love the enthusiasm and energy that she projects.

For the last week my husband Jim said "Rebecca's class is all you've been talking about and why don't you just sign up for them".  Well, that was all the nudge I needed!  I'm so excited!

Once signed up, there is a "Preliminary Information" section that I was able to access prior to the class starting date.  In this section - there is a video discussion of the tools, yarn and looms that will be used in this course given by Rebecca, along with a couple PDF's  and many links to where supplies can be obtained.

If the "preliminary info" section is any indication of what the rest of this course will be like, then I made a great choice in who I will study tapestry weaving from!
